The practice of Yin Yoga is a softer style of yoga practice and has its roots in understanding the anatomy of the body with the Chinese Meridian system. We can then “harmonise the flow of energy through the fascial channels.” *
This subtle practice provides balance to our more Yang styles of working and playing. Yin Yoga improves our range of motion and develops our ability to be present in the very moment we are in.
Janet has undertaken over 200 hours additional Yin Yoga Teacher Trainings with Paul Grilley, Bernie Clark, Josh Summers, Rebecca Shepherd and Karen Kirkness.
Having had the privilege of training with a variety of teachers over the years she has been exposed to many different interpretations of yoga in its broadest sense. She has distilled these teachings into her 25 hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training Modules. These modules have been listed as Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for Yoga Alliance and count towards your three year development training requirements as a registered Yoga Teacher registered.
- Each training includes a different manual.
- However, they are also suitable for all students.
- You do not have to be a yoga teacher to attend.
- Each module is perfectly balanced no matter where you plan to take the teachings with you afterwards.
- Places are limited to 16 persons
Our teacher training course is an intimate one and completed on a one to one basis with Janet. There will be some additional interaction with other students so you can share your knowledge and learn from each other as well as the opportunity to practice your skills with real students in a safe and supportive environment.
Due to the intensity of the programme Janet will only take on 4 students per year and the course is completed during 12 months at a pace that suits you and your development.
This course focusses on the functional aspects of Hatha Yoga. The fact that we are all different physically and emotionally is at the heart of our Yoga Teacher Training Programme.
We structure our programme so that you will understand this concept anatomically using the system developed by Paul and Suzee Grilley in their internationally acclaimed Yin Yoga Teacher Training programme.
Janet will break down the fundamental poses so that you will understand the intention of each pose, how to pay attention to what is happening, and how to make adjustments according to what stops you. You will then be in a position to provide guidance to others using the same formula.
Janet will also encourage you to find your own unique teaching style as the course unfolds.
